As artists, sometimes we get so wrapped up in the technique, that the "emotion" gets lost. There are many that are expert in their craft, that constantly blow us away with their wondrous works! Technique is fantastic, and we all strive for that perfection in our work... but never forget what made you start that piece in the first place, that photograph, that idea that sparked you, and make sure that that "spark" does not get lost in the technique of what you are trying to portray, from your soul, that "spark" that made you click or pick up that brush... for that is where the magic is~~~ So, it is not that you are the best or the worst, it is the feeling that you evoke when you share yourself to the world~~~ just a random thought I am whispering out into the winds~~~
Time Frames For The Creation Of 3D Digital Paintings
1 - Custom Creation of 3D Digital Character ~
The creation of a single custom digital character from inception of custom molding of the character shape to texturing of the uv mapping to completion of 3D MAT pose set-up varies for each character, but on average takes 30 to 40 hours.
2 - Set-Up of 3D Scene which comprises the Character, Posing & Expression, Light Rigging, Scene Elements, Rendering & Post-Process Finish Work of Digital Painting ~
This second process can take on average from 4 to 20+ hours, depending on the complexity of the imagery and how much post-process & digital painting is done to the piece of artwork.
A very complex painting comprising of full scene backdrops, multiple characters, scene ambiance, etc can take many more hours to set up, render, and post-process.
Custom Commissions ~
YES, I do take commissions for custom work. Depending on what it is for, if it is a creation of a totally custom character from start to finish or if it is a commission of a painting of a character that I can use one of my stock characters for would determine the price. On average for a non-custom character work costs $150.00 to $350.00 for a finished digital painting (the cost of printing said digital work is not included and would depend on size and finish)
NO, I DO NOT DO COMMISSION WORK FOR FREE so please do not ask me to. My time is just as valuable as yours and I have to eat & put a roof over my head as well, not to mention the cost of programs, stock, supplies, etc that it takes to be able to create these works and we will not go into the years it took to learn these skills in the first place - called education.
That all being said, if you are interested in commissioning me, please convo me privately and we can discuss the details ~~~
Thank You, now back to your regularly scheduled programming ~smile~~~

£1536 pledged from our awesome backers to date, and I really can't thank you all enough, £963 to get, and 9 days to do it. Flint has raised that amount in that timescale when the Kickstarter launched, but we need help to do it again.
This is a dream project, and something I simply will never be able to achieve without this funding, my three kids have a magical ability to drain my bank balance, I must stop feeding and clothing them :-)
This is book one of three, with short story and art anthologies planned, comics, and people have been discussing a web series with me as well, but it all starts here. It's all or nothing.
Spread the word far and wide, 100% is within reach :-) Nick, author of Flint's adventures
A new reward level is launching today. Star in your own ASTONISHING ADVENTURE short story, details later today, stay tuned! :-)
