Are you a romantic or a rake? From the love story of Daphnis and Chloé to the escapades of Don Juan, Valentine’s Day comes early this year as the GVO shares its love of music with orchestral showpieces featuring two of our own musicians in the solo spotlight.

Explore the transience of life and love through the music of Verdi, Mahler, and Strauss. Baritone Jesse Blumberg sings Mahler’s poignant orchestral Songs of a Wayfarer in a program that also features the overture to Verdi's La Forza del Destino and Death and Transfiguration by Richard Strauss, all conducted by Music Director Barbara Yahr.
