I love that the other keyboardist next to the soloist loves what he’s doing so much he can’t help but laugh.   Its my reaction too when I hear someone do something amazing - outsider - a WTF moment , what have you !

Sheer Joy !!

I respect your right to do your tongues-speaking singing. And your right to go on and on about satan and the “devil”.    Now just as we non-charismatics don’t want to do you charismatics any harm or stop your tongues speaking - live and let live,  please have the decency, kindness and humanity to leave gays and the LBGT community in peace. Support same-sex marriage for those who choose to live lives in ways different to yours.

Just as some here regard your behaviour here as slightly odd. Not normal ( and I USED to be a charismatic too )   so do vast numbers of your evangelical community consider the LGBT minority outside of your religion to be not normal. Deviants.

That many of you evangelicals want to “correct”.

So - bearing in mind that you want to represent EVERYONE in your voting district - hopefully those who vote against you as well as for you - I would implore you to remember that you are meant to represent the people you serve - NOT merely the dogma of your own personal religion.   To do so and to be fair, tolerant, kind and democratic - sometimes you will need to vote for or against policies which your particular church objects to.

But you - as a lawmaker do not serve by doing the bidding of your personal denomination. Or at least I hope not.  Were that so you would be enacting a theocracy.   And the only theocracy that would ever work and be benign - would be one where the lawmakers had some magical perfect knowledge of truth - a perfect interpretation of “scripture”  - a perfect - infallible connection to god.

Are you such a person ?

I suspect not.   Therefore the best way forward is to accept that others around you do not share your beliefs and - just as for your - weird to some people - tongues speaking -  please legislate in a manner that  gives the LGBT  the freedom and right to marry and love who they please.

They mean you no harm.   But by Prosecuting or banning their lifestyles  you harm them, and are imposing your own prejudices on others. You have failed to separate church from state.

Be kind.    Be humane.  Be human.  Be truly accepting of difference.

To tolerate means to live alongside those whose acts you don’t agree with.  That is - when those acts do no harm to others - your personal ideas and beliefs  about “offending or displeasing”  your deity”  do not count.
