The Doom Patrol pilot episode was EXCELLENT.

I didn’t know if Brendan Frazier could pull it off but he was perfectly cast! I really liked the Titans show on DCU and wasn’t sure how they’d top it, but this show delivers by going a different route and still fitting within that universe (plus it seems like the budget is upped a bit from the Titans pilot). Every member of the patrol gets a good portion of the story to get the viewers up to speed. They put a lot of character buildup in a short amount of time it sets up the direction of the show very well.

The first Robotman character I got into was the Robert Crane version in the old All-Star Squadron comics. Happy to find out that he was co-created by Jerry Siegel (he made a small-time character you MIGHT remember as Superman!).

I got into the Cliff Steele version of Robotman in the 90s when Steve Lightle’s master draftsmanship made me a big fan of the Doom Patrol comics.

I recently started reading the original Arnold Drake and Bruno Premiani Doom Patrol books and the artwork was so superbly done, it’s a treat for me to read through them. Premiani’s inking is SO good!
