This is one of the most embarrassingly awful things I have ever seen.
The reality is that fracked natural gas uses less land than other energy sources, uses less water than other energy sources, and has been almost solely responsible for helping the U.S. reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 8% while globally emissions are up 32%.
Acres needed to produce 1 year of energy for 1,000 homes-
Fracked Natural Gas: 0.4
Gallons of water to produce 1 million BTUs-
Fracked Natural Gas: 3
Soy Biodiesel: 44,500
Natural gas is abundant and far cleaner burning than coal and oil. Unlike with wind and solar (at least until there's a big breakthrough), you can also actually power modern society with natural gas. This includes powering vehicles, homes, businesses, and other trappings on civilization.
Until someone creates a completely safe nuclear reactor or engineers the next big thing in solar panels and/or battery storage, natural gas makes the most sense as the cleanest, safest, most abundant, cheapest, and most convenient energy source for the early 21st century. And fracking is the best way to get the gas out of the ground.
