Cute idea, making your own pancakes, but in all honesty I wish I ordered the restaurant to make them for me (which was an option). So it's for novelty and kids would love it. Unfortunately our batter got stuck to the flat top pan but the waitress was really nice and gave us some more supplies on the house. She also mentioned that they were getting nonstick pans soon so maybe the problems fixed. Without fail, we just used a bunch of butter and the pancakes were delicious. I definitely recommend bacon and paying for the Vermont maple syrup. Although it wasn't my favorite, in what other restaurant are you going to cook your own pancakes?

It's expensive for what you get. Peanut butter batter was good. The service was horrible. I saw employees in the back grabbing each other's private parts and giggling about it. No one checks up on you. It was worth going just once for strictly the concept.

Fun! A few too many little kids, but what did I expect at a place that let's you make your own pancakes. The bottle of batter looked ridiculously small, but was more than enough which was a nice surprise. Excellent selection of toppings and the non cake menu was great too. Definitely worth a try.

So good and fun! Definitely a restaurant I'm going to miss once I become fully raw. I always got the buttermilk pancakes w/white chocolate chips & bananas as a side..and it was delicious! The only down part is how long you have to wait. I've sat for an hour before waiting to get seated..but that's only because everyone loves this place and it's been packed every time I've gone there! I've had great memories at this place.. The first time I went there with my best friend, I was eating and somehow my seat began sliding from underneath of me..I felt it slipping but it was happened so quick, and I couldn't really do anything about it..as the person next to me was asking if I was alright, I look up at my best friend across from me and she's just cracking up, and as I'm looking at her, she begins to start sinking down, and she did the exact same thing in her chair that I just did. It was too funny. The waiter even came up and asked if we were alright. It was really loud too, but it was definitely a good moment to look back on. Also one time when I went there with her, she had just got over the stomach flu but she felt better and was fine (so she thought), so we decided to go eat there. After she ate, she felt like she was about to puke and ran to the bathroom but it was full!..so she came back and was covering her mouth, and I handed her an empty cup but she proceeded to puke in the cup that was full of water next to it and then on to her plate..it's something we crack up at now, Hahahaha. I tipped the waitress $10

Come here for the experience, not for the food. I've been to Slappy Cakes twice now. My 7 year old loves it. But after the second time, my wife and I came to the same conclusion, it's way overpriced for the food you receive. On our last visit, we waited an hour to get in, then it was loud, the server never came around to refill coffee and the servings were meager. We'll go to Cup'n Saucer or J&M next time.
