Good job on the vocals, I remember this song from my own childhood but never thought much about it except that it had a peppy beat considering it had such a sad message. Curiosity got the best of me today so I researched the song online. I came across a very informative essay, Who Is Mambrú and What is He Doing in Kindegarden? by Ana Gonzàlez, a school teacher who had her students go about researching the origins of the song and why children sang about such a sad subject matter. It was quite interesting to find out this song made it around the world and how far back the song could be traced (early 1700s). Check it out!
