Remember Principle #1- Don't Criticize, Condemn, or Complain -
This is the only principle that is stated in the negative. Many of us have to stop doing this before we can begin using the other principles.
Criticism is futile because it puts a person on the defensive and usually makes him/her strive to justify themselves. Criticism is dangerous, because it wounds a person's precious pride, hurts his/her sense of importance, and arouses resentment.
Move to Action
Choose one day in the upcoming week to consciously avoid giving criticism, condemning and most difficult, complaining.

Dale Carnegie Skills for Success Participant Testimonial

If this opportunity swings your way, grab hold and hang on!! I couldn’t be happier to recommend attending the Dale Carnegie course on “Skills for Success.” I learned more in our weekly sessions than in a semester of leadership. Today I’m much more social, my memory is improved and I learned many valuable lessons that, if taught differently, would never have had the same impact. The 8 week course was definitely not main stream and certainly not comfortable but I highly enjoyed the experience. I never knew what would happen once the class began, but I always spent a good deal of the time laughing out loud! Our coaches (Ken and Steve) were sheer joy and genuinely focused on providing a wonderful learning experience. Their enthusiasm alone is a good reason to attend the class, plus their lessons stick! Since graduating from “Skills for Success” I truly understand why the Dale Carnegie name commands so much respect. Just get out there and sign up!
