http://eng.origami-kids.com/paper-airplane/what-is-the-longest-distance-flown.htm

The Guinness Record Worlds for the longest flight by a paper airplane is 69.14 meters (226 feet 10 inches), achieved by Joe Ayoob and aircraft designer John M. Collins (both USA), at McClellan Air Force Base, in North Highlands, California, USA on 26 February 2012. The plane was constructed from a single sheet of uncut A4 paper. Joe Ayoob flew the aircraft designed by John M. Collins.

Lessons In Flight Using Paper Airplanes Research, reading, problem solving, critical thinking and an understanding of the elements of flight and aerodynamics were all utilized when Chad Bigelow, technology integration specialist at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School visited with fifth graders in Stephanie Stanton’s class for a hands-on lesson on paper airplanes.

Paper airplanes belonging to the category Gliders are designed and built to be in the air a long time and fly slowly. If a glider is well designed, when it is released in an appropriate place, seldom reaches the earth without touching hit something first. :-)

There are two types of planners: “high-fly” and “low-fly”. Most paper gliders in this web are “low-fly”. They can fly very well even with a very soft launch. The ideal for the launch of these gliders technique is pushing, that is not throwing as hard. The general rule is to launch at the same angle and speed as if flying embers

Planeurs-Avion-en-papierGliders “High-fly” by contrast, are launched vertically upward with great force, as if they were a rocket: Because of its initial speed the glider gains altitude quickly and then begin to decline slowly until landfall

Most gliders paper described in this section are the glider type “low-flying” fixed wing. Like the flight of birds with outstretched wings. They are designed to maintain the fixed wings without rocking. Additionally, you can add small wings to help them fly and make truly amazing aerobatics. Oragami Paper Airplane.

Acrobatic Airplanes are the “hunting dogs” in the world of paper airplanes. This planes will perform amazing loops, corkscrews, and all kinds of stunts, while getting lots of distance, and still flying. Unfortunately, due to it’s extraordinary features, they spend much longer on the houses roof and tree branches :-)

Acrobatic Origami Planes are designed to be launched in all kinds of ways. Most do well with a launch with no great force, directed upwards, so the aircraft fly away from you and making turns or acrobatics. If we launched with high strength generalmante perform well in one or two rounds or rounds before they land. Make more than 2 rounds is not that difficult, you just have to refine wings on every pitch

How to Get Great Circles

For your aerobatic aircraft to generate enough twists, first put the plane with big lifts. When throwing the planes, throw it hard outdoors, but more moderately indoors. While the planes are flying, make sure that it glides and falls at the same time so the plane will fly better. Then give it a good shot with enough force and in the plane model or direct an upward angle or directly on the ground.

Avion Acrobatic Voltige To Launch hold your throwing hand out palm down with fingers together & extended, then raise your middle finger and lower your index & ring fingers slightly. Now put the nose of the paper plane into the gap and grip firmly by bringing your fingers back together again. Draw your arm back and whip that sucker straight into the sky.

One important mod: Fold the last 3/4 inch (2cm) of the wingtips up at a right angle, parallel to the body, then fold half of this tip again. (You end up with a 1cm box shape at the end of each wing, which contributes to the amazing acrobatics when you throw the thing really hard.) If you’re not sure what I mean, look at the winglets on a modern jet, and imagine them folded again so the tip of the wing is pointed at the passengers.

Paper planes are made in many shapes and designs, depending of the model the plane is designed and built with very different shapes, speeds and flight characteristics. In this section, we shown the faster ones: The Hunters.

Because they are very thin and elegant the Hunters airplanes are perfect for quick shots at eye level or above. They are the best paper airplanes to fly them inside, they do not require much space.

The airplanes hunters can be thrown with a lot of strength. They fly fast and can fly for a long distance. However, they don’t stay aloft for too long. Those paper airplanes are designed for bored people in office. When they are flying are truly spectacular.

Paper Airplane Hunter

For the Hunters, the best way to launch it in a straight line and an upward angle. Most flight distance is obtained at an angle of 45 degrees to the ground.

If instead you want to achieve a goal that is not too far away, it starts right up and as hard as you can usually be more than enough. Remember, never aim a paper airplane on someone’s face. You could easily hurt one eye or two!
