I was curious about the Richard J. Daley Library Archives at UIC. They have African American resources too. I found some Maxwell Street resources there. It was a Jewish community until the Great Migration. http://www.uic.edu/depts/lib/specialcoll/services/rjd/findingaids/MaxwellStreetb.html
