Eglise Saint-Severin (聖賽芙韓教堂, Church of Saint-Severin) is a Catholic church located on the southern bank of the Latin Quarter in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. It is one of the oldest churches that remains standing on the Left Bank and still in use as a place of worship. Saint-Severin was a hermit who lived on the Left Bank in the 5th century. At his death, a small chapel was built over his tomb, a site of the current church that today bears his name. In 11th century, a small Romanesque church was built to replace the primitive chapel. The Left Bank became a prosperous community, and the church of Saint Severin was the major religious site of the area. After the church was seriously damaged by fire in 1448, the church was rebuilt in the Late-Gothic style. The church's external features include gargoyles and flying buttresses. The bell tower ends in a sharp steeple decorated with dormer windows. The original entrance is under the bell tower on the Rue Saint-Severin but is no longer in use.

Church of Saint-Severin was not on our to see list. We went from Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris (巴黎聖母院) to the left band of Seine (塞納河). We saw a very old bizarre building that was not attractive enough for us to visit when we were strolling on the Rue Saint-Jacques, but the small Rue Saint-Severin next to it was an alley with many restaurants and shops. We went to the alley and soon saw the entrance of the Church of Saint-Severin. We found that the inside of this ancient church was quite beautiful. It had some unique architecture such as the palm tree shaped pillars, seven stained glass modern windows, a well-kept organ and the oldest bell in Paris (casted in 1412)........

The Soft Light of Dawn Cambodia

A shot I took from Independence beach, Sihanoukville.
This is my time of the day, sat waiting for the dawn light to break the horizon, creating a cool world of mystical light and shadows ready for me to capture.

Tulip Medley

Afternoon sun on a "field" of tulips in the city center of Munich. I absolutely loved these tulips in Munich, and I'll be posting a few more shots over the coming days. I just haven't finished processing them yet:)

May your week be filled with a "medley" of beauty!

Happy Monday!
