Ok. Going to start my campaign in a small new england town destroyed by the flood. My players are survivors who found sanctuary in a church (one of the few buildings left standing). It was going to be the party with a few allies who I will create. (I was thinking a priest would be a good one being a church that saves them). I was thinking that maybe the place underneath the church where they found sanctuary is dangerously low on supplies. This forces them out into the streets that are over run by Swamp Devils which may be townsfolk that did not make it. The flooding caused them to be walking human-algae hybrids and the players must take them down and keep as many of the allies alive as possible. The battle that ensues attracts a pilot that was flying over head who ends up making a forced landing in the town. The plane needs repairs so we go into wheels up landing for the next session. In payment for their assistance, the pilot agrees to fly them out of town. First session....they save the town. Second session, Wheels Up Landing scenario.

Ideas? Approval? Suggestions?

Posted my premise idea for my players' introduction into the world of DAR in the Facebook group. Still need to create the adventure but here is the concept...

Our group comes across the spot of an old new england town all but demolished by the flood. Survivors still live there but they are only a shadow of what they used to be. Broken down huts stand where homes used to be. Just before our heroes arrive, there was also the arrival of a cult based on extreme religious values. Resembling a modern day Spanish inquisition, they believe that the faithless have brought upon the days of the Serpent. It is their job too bring the faithless to Judgement. It is the party's job to either help or hinder them. By helping them, much innocent blood will be shed in the name of religion. By hindering them, they spare many innocent lives but learn at the end.that some of the lives they save are indeed serpent tainted and continue to haunt the world thanks to them.

Thought you would all appreciate the fact that a bunch of co-workers have started calling me Savage at work. Of course, its not because I play Savage Worlds. Its because I told a co-worker (who is kinda a bully and control freak in a lot of peoples eyes) to go F&#& himself in front of other co-workers. But still....savage.

Wondering how many people in my circles have experience with the Roku. A friend of mine had one that he never used so he gave it to me for free. Looking at all of the flexibility and uses, I think I am going to enjoy having it....especially since it was free. What suggestions (apps, channels or general uses) can you think of regarding the Roku4? If it makes it easier...I am into gaming (tabletop), genealogy, geocaching and general geekery stuff. Any free sci fi or horror type channels?

There are quite a few free channels.  Shout Factory is wonderful, and CrypticTV was a beloved companion during my Saturday morning cleaning (the channel seems to be unavailable now, though).  It takes a while to sort through the free channels since many of them have the same movies (especially for older SF and horror movies).  Also, the commercials that cut into the movies can be repetitive and pop up in ways that interrupt scenes.

Anyone use Wild Card generator? I downloaded the demo. After uploading the setting rules for SPC it shows some powers only being available at different ranks. The SPC does not have ranks assigned to powers that I can see. If you have the power points, I assumed you could buy whatever powers you wanted to.

While Wild Card creator and Hero Labs are excellent tools, there isn't a lot of math or complexity to just doing it with pen and paper. Just sayin'
