Today it is very hot, too hot to work outside. The dehydrator is on with mushrooms drying and we canned apples as they were very cheap.

We had a well dug last year...it was up and running around this time, although because of it the garden was a mess. Through the winter we have tried to develop this top terrace into some form of garden, although we do need to be able to get to the well if it needs fixing. The box is the well...hopefully planters will have small climbers growing to hide the box, but not a bad job even if I do say so myself

Well, not posted much as I haven't been able to log onto this page...just found a way and I must say Google was not very helpful with this problem. Anyway we are back. Now to try to play catch up and post what has been happening here.
Lets start with the summer veg bed using straw bales. This will keep us in salads over the hot summer...it is in the shade most of the day.

Being away in england for such a long time means the garden gets in a sorry state. It is just far too hot here to work for hours. I have to be patient and just do about an hour a day, sometimes that is too much. So I think this bed will take 2 weeks to clear, but the animals will get lots of greenery!
