Top notch. Just realize that this is not the place to take your last minute rush job. Plan ahead and you'll get a fabulously tailored garment back.

Honestly, one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life as a customer. I took a full length cashmere overcoat that had been passed down to me to Gus' for alterations, never having been before. While I was there, he fitted me and noted that he would have to make the adjustments to the shoulders and body, and I would then have to come back in so he could re-measure the sleeve length due to the other changes affecting the sleeves. In addition, while I was there the first time, he told me how much the changes would cost, and wrote me a receipt with the price and the complete list of changes. I received a call about two weeks later telling me the coat was ready for me to pick up. When I asked about the sleeves, Gus literally had no idea what I was talking about. I showed up to pick up the coat, and the sleeves were clearly too short, and Gus remembered that he was supposed to finish everything but the sleeves, and then finish those after I came in again. Without acknowledging his error, he claimed that I would have to come back in a week, AND pay a considerable amount extra for him to adjust the sleeves, even though his initial quote included everything. I did not have the original receipt with me at the time, so I assumed that maybe I had remembered incorrectly and would come back to pick up the coat in a week. When I went back, I had the original receipt with me which clearly stated that the original price included all changes. When I brought this up, Gus went into a tirade that I wish I had recorded. I was told that he was too busy to deal with customers like me, and that I was the reason he had to work such long hours. I reminded him that this was his mistake, and I should not have to pay for it, to which he claimed that I had heard him incorrectly even though the receipt stated otherwise. Not trying to be a difficult customer, I told Gus that I would be glad to pay, but that the additional amount he would be getting in the short term would be much less than my future business, which would've been considerable. Gus began to raise his voice and tell me that I was going to pay him, and that he is too busy to deal with "people like me." After paying the additional amount, I went to grab my coat and leave, but before I could get out the door, Gus had the nerve to actually question my character, an ironic thing to do given his actions throughout this experience. I thought it was a fitting end to what was one of the worst customer service experiences of my life, and worthy of the first review I have ever written, either good or bad. There are plenty of good tailors in this city. If you care about honesty and being treated with respect, avoid this place at all costs. It's not worth your time or your money!

Incredibly rude when I called... I was calling asking for pricing, and he said that I wasn't his type of customer! - that my type need not to come to his store. Nice. He doesn't know me? I'm a business owner, and just shop around for prices. He lost a potential GOOD customer.
