Out There
People often ask me where I find inspiration for my photography. Or what are my favorite hikes and preferred weather or light conditions.
We, the photographers are always looking for: experiences, adventure, unique composition, perfect light, etc. I could give a precise inventory of places where I felt inspired including a list of conditions that brought to life every single photo of mine. But it wouldn’t necessarily mean that the same set of circumstances would allow the same level of artistic inspiration. There are no universal answers to the question where the inspiration comes from and how to find it. It is all a set of very personal experiences that can’t be enclosed in pre-defined frames. We are all experiencing the surrounding world via our own lenses and perceive it in our own, unique way. Therefore, I can’t tell you exactly what and where will inspire you, but I can help you find it by assuring you that inspiration is out there.
Baffin Island is one of the places that inspire me the most. That is why I am going there again (4th time) in 2018. I will be taking with me a small group of photographers who are looking for unforgettable Arctic adventure. For more info on this topic contact me via arturstanisz.com
About this photo: This is a simple composition of pretty powerful scenery with Mt. Thor in the background. Enjoy!

Alpine Paintbrush
Here I find myself again searching for new adventure and places to photograph. Summer in the Coastal Mountains of BC this year set in very late and I am still waiting for the full flower bloom. In the meantime I found these patches of Alpine Paintbrush high in the alpines where snow had already melted. After many hours of hike in the rain this sunset came with a soft light that nicely illuminated flowers bringing unexpected summery feeling.

"The Thor"
Baffin Island Photo Adventure 2016 is getting closer. For those that are still looking for late summer workshop of the lifetime, it is the last chance to reserve the spot.
If you picture yourself hiking among Arctic giants like visible on this photo Mt. Thor, contact me me at arturstanisz@gmail.com or elsewhere.
This photo was taken literally from my campsite. It was an incredibly quiet morning with Arctic haze hanging in the air. It created an unforgettable atmosphere that was additionally enhanced by the presence of the powerful force that Mt. Thor brings to this place.

For all those that missed my show in December 2015, here is another chance to see my work printed large. I plan to be there for at least some of the time on Feb. 4 to answer your questions and chat. All showcased work in Limited Editions can be purchased via Ian Tan Gallery that represents my work. Also if you can't come at that time, my work will be in the gallery afterwards, too. My pieces will also be showcased past Feb. 4. Note: on Feb 4, 5-8pm there will be a reception for the whole event so be prepared for a crowded environment.
February 4-7, 2016-please check out the link below for details. From now on, a part of my work can also be purchased in limited editions via Ian Tan Gallery that has just started to represent my work.

"Nocturnal Charm"
My first photo post of 2016 comes in a package with my best wishes for this New Year that I pass to all of you: my friends and followers. Let’s work together in 2016 on making this planet a better place to live, however small and seemingly unimportant our daily actions seem to be, we do influence the status quo. Power to the people! And peace!
On the photo: Mt. Chephren/Pyramid Mountain (3307 m), Canadian Rocky Mountains, December 29, 2015.

"Arctic Wonderland"
Cold and crispy day on Baffin Island with the view from the outside of my tent, at the base of Mt. Asgard seems like a proper selection for today, the Winter’s Solstice also known as the shortest day in the year (Dec. 22, 2015).
With this image I would also like to wish everybody Happy Holidays, many interesting photo-landscape voyages (preferably with me smile emoticon, lots of various shades of joy and all the best in the New Year!

The Lookout
Sometimes, when I have a bit of a free time I ask myself: “How many times during my photographic escapades I was so amazed by a scenery that before I took a photo I already envisioned how it would look like at a different time of day, with different sky or weather conditions? How many times a landscape made me want to come back and shoot it again? The answer is, quite a few times actually and this view is definitely one of such examples. In my opinion it is one of ultimate sights of Canadian Rockies, with Mt. Robson and its whole grandeur. I already have a plan to go back there to experience and shoot this view in different conditions.
Side note: It can be printed as big as a whole wall!
