I have just found a book I thought was lost. A graphic novel called Yossel by Joe Kubert. This was the book that changed my opinion on comics. The art work is sublime, with Kubert drawing in pencil sketches throughout. This rough monochrome style contributes to the harshness of the tale regarding a young boy in the Warsaw Ghetto, who finds solace in art. It made me realise that comics are not all about superheros and fantastic adventures, and that it's possible for a comic to emotionally move me just as much as any piece of film, music or literature. Yossel remains the greatest comic I have ever read and if you haven't already, I highly recommend you check it out yourself.
Take it easy!

Took part in a jam night at the Royal Oak, Malborough, Devon yesterday. Many thanks to Ben Carr for the invite. Had a great time with top quality musicians from the south hams area. I will definately be heading there again. For more info on Ben Carr check out the link.
Peace

I played a gig in Torpoint, Cornwall last night at a great venue called The Garden. If you're ever in the area I would highly recommend it. Good beer, good atmosphere, good times!

Here's a little taste of the Hamer and Isaacs Gypsy Swing Band playing a great jazz club in London earlier this year.
