Heavy rain and storms to engulf Victoria

Victorians can expect a wild and stormy day on Wednesday, with flash flooding, damaging winds and large hail possible.

A low pressure trough will create very unstable atmospheric conditions over the state, providing the trigger for storms. Very warm and humid conditions will provide the ideal conditions for their development.

we are experiencing heavy gusts at Zilzie at the moment between 25 to 40 knots sometimes there heavy sheeting rain and then none.Typical of a cyclone tail feather.Unfortunately we may soon experience the wrath of a category 5 within hours. The beach near us is really rough and will get worse as you can expect have lived here for 3 years and Oswald dumped many many outrageous millimetres of rain here and caused widespread flooding.this although does appear a hell of a lot worse. Anyway we can do what we can do best and hope for the best, brave faces people it is mother nature being pissed off with us and we are about to get a big spanking

Thunderstorms bringing heat relief to the Top End

A recent increase in thunderstorm activity over the northern tropics is bringing some relief from the heat and humidity that has been building.

Anywhere within about 50 kilometres of the north coast is feeling it the most. The temperatures have been rising into the low to mid thirties, which is close to average, but the humidity has also been rising, so the 'feels-like' temperature has been soaring.
