Daminion Standalone for Windows is an excellent option for managing your images. It's free to catalog up to 15,000 images, and affordable for larger image collections. It sports a powerful interface and fast performance.

If you're a solo photographer already using a tool like Adobe Lightroom, that has built-in image management features, you're probably set. But if you use a tool like Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, or ON1 Photo 10 for editing, you might need a more robust tool for managing images.

That's where Daminion Standalone comes in. In this tutorial, you'll learn to use Daminion Standalone to catalog your images and get organized. It's free to try, so jump over to Daminion's website and download it to get started in this tutorial.

How ??? Why ???

Furthermore, if an account does get shut down for seemingly legitimate reasons, shouldn’t there be a real appeal process where the account owner can interact with humans? And lastly, isn’t it strange that an account that gets hacked has the same exact appeals process as someone who violates Instagram’s terms of service? Ultimately, using bots has its merits but there is something authentic about interacting with humans.

If an account with such a large following is getting shut down, what’s to stop them from coming for yours next?

Update: An hour after this post was published, the account has finally been restored by Instagram.
Instagram is the most common platform photographers, clients and models use to meet and follow each other. Recently though, accounts are getting shut down

flickr so good, TH has over a TB on the site.
Even in the new Instagram, Facebook, Snapchatty world, Flickr still remains my favorite place to share photos. I have now posted over 120000 photos to Flickr and it remains my primary online archive for my body of work. Even though you don't hear about Flickr as much in the headlines these days, ...

After thinking about this image for a long time, finding the right conditions to photograph it was very rewarding. It was a great reminder that what Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell wrote about the importance of visualization in photography was spot on.

The news dropped earlier today with little fanfare from Amazon themselves. All you’ve got is a somewhat nascent landing page detailing prices and explaining what Amazon Prints is all about.

“Amazon Prints offers high quality, affordable prints of digital photos, delivered by Amazon,” explains the page. “Create custom photo books and online photo prints, and receive free standard shipping and free expedited shipping on orders of $15 or more.”

The key here is “affordable.” Photo prints cost just 9 cents per print for 4×6, 58 cents per print for 5×7, and $1.79 per print for 8×10—almost half the cost of Shutterfly. Photo books start at $20 and go up from there depending on size, paper, and cover options. Stationary and calendar options are coming soon.
One of the biggest companies in the world just got into the photo print business. Seattle-based ecommerce giant Amazon just launched Amazon Prints—an onlin

On its face it seems like a straightforward copyright dispute, and besides, Motolko was only asking for just one kopek, less than one cent, in compensation. This was about the principle of the thing, not money. And yet, Motolko lost the legal battle because an expert witness said the photographs showed, “[no] signs of creative freshness, originality, uniqueness, or exceptionality.”

As a result, the photos have been ruled “a commonplace record of a ‘social event'”—copyright protection doesn’t apply.
Belarus photographer Anton Motolko received two unpleasant surprises last week. First, he lost a seemingly straightforward copyright suit against a state-r

Like it’s pronunciation, juxtaposition is one of those compositional rules that seems tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty easy.

Ironically, you might often be using juxtaposition in your photography without even know you are doing it.

the video has earned itself more than a few critics.

All blades are intact and spinning after the ball hits, so why did the hexacopter fall? Why did it hover there for a second or two before flying off to the side? And why is the footage from a 4K-capable drone so grainy?

Me. I am hoping this is real.

Introduction
Avid Photography enthusiast that has been shooting film or digital for over thirty years.

Primarily an Outdoor Photographer I seek to find the beauty in urban, rural, and natural settings, with an eye for the light composition, and proper exposure to portray the final image as pre-visualized at the scene.

As I continue to develop a personalized style, I find that my vision is often expressed in the textures, lighting, and color in the scene in a way that is less representational portrayal, then it is of an abstract or emotional portrayal.
