Someone please convince me I should use my Google Voice account. I have one, but really don't know why.

1: You can give your number away freely, and then easily block anyone who abuses it. (Or set unknown callers to go directly to voicemail, and only add them as contacts once you've screened them.)
2: You can set rules that it won't (e.g.) ring your home phone after 10pm.
3: You can send texts and manage your messages from a computer, which is often handier.

I really like how Google+ has made Hangouts sign-language friendly -- huge leap forward.

Good job Google!

When you think you have it tough, try a little perspective.

My take:

It's unlikely G+ will ever become the same thing as Facebook -- a place to connect online with all the people that you know in real life. It has already surpassed Facebook, however, as a way to connect with people you don't already know. The ability to discover interesting people is better than on Facebook (even with FB's recent attempt at "subscribe").

Possibly because G+ is smaller than FB, and certainly because it has a higher percentage of early-adopters, G+ feels a bit more like an interactive blog than a "status update" stream.

I have discovered many smart software engineers and new development ideas here. Photographers also seem to love the tools available for sharing in a large community of people whose work they admire. I suggest that you search G+ for topics that are interesting to you right now (e.g. a particular concept in online marketing), and see if you can connect with some strangers.

Thanks. I like flipboard but I'm checking out Pulse now. Do you use Google Reader? I'm trying "The Feed" and it's not too bad for gReader. Also like NPR, CNN, TED, AccuWeather, and WunderMap

I'm not happy with our government letting this 'debt ceiling crisis' get to where it is. Just FIX IT! For the next few years, I prolly won't vote for any incumbent.

Introduction
In 2010 I decided to go back to school. I'm learning American Sign Language (ASL) with the goal of being an Advocate, Interpreter, or something else I haven't been exposed to yet. I plan to graduate in 2014

I am deliberate in my choices. If given the choice, I prefer working on projects that are already good and take them to great by improving efficiency and effectiveness.

To improve a situation, I sort through potential solutions to find the best solution. I'm always asking the "What happens if…" question (to myself and to others) helping me to anticipate potential outcomes and deconstruct the situation into a simplified explanation.

Once I've made a decision, I take responsibility for it. I want to see it to completion because I'm driven by being helpful and dependable.

I know my strengths and want to work with others who know theirs. We all fit together in the overall picture and I work best when we're all doing our part.

I am a leader.
I am a strategist,
researcher and an analyst.
I am a creative thinker and problem solver.
I have trained,
traveled, and consulted.

I respect the status quo but I challenge it to make sure it's the best possible process, solution, or resource.
