Taper Time: I've never trained as hard as in the past four months. A lot has gone right, and even the stuff that went wrong, like a calf pull two weeks ago that's disappeared, hasn't set me back. I'm 100%. VDOT is 51. This morning's slow distance run makes it 45 miles in three days, with negative splits, but there's no fatigue, no pain. I could go again tomorrow. Never felt like this. Ever. There's plenty of time and energy for a perfect taper before Providence. Let's do this.

This happened to me Tuesday morning too. I woke up and enjoyed a clear mind for a number of seconds before I remembered. I hate that feeling.

In my 2012 Boston shirt after a 7.5 mile treadmill run. I felt good on the sub-marathon pace intervals and great on the base pace, so I think the calf is doing fine. I've got a long slow distance 20-miler planned for Friday through Lexington & Concord. Thinking of Boston through it all.
