Got my preview access to Google Classroom last night. Took it for a spin and am very impressed. Google has created a clean and easy to use tool that will make sharing and turning in documents much easier in a classroom. It is still quite basic, but looks like a good foundation for Google to build upon to create a powerful learning management system. See the video linked below for Google's quick demo of Classroom.

American Flag Art Tutorial
Of course, you can create a beautiful American flag any time of the year! You can even do this tutorial on a black sheet of paper and put fireworks in the night sky!

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/06/10/white-house-obama-looking-to-act-administratively-unilaterally-on-guns/

We don't own any guns. We also live in Canada.

I have some thoughts though.

If crazy, angry, bad people want to do BAD things they will do them. If they don't have any problem shooting and killing people, they won't have any problem buying or stealing illegal guns. They also won't have a problem shooting innocent people or law enforcement.

What I want to know is how there are SO many guns on the streets? Are all these guns lawfully obtained? Where did they come from? Are the shootings done by people who purchased the guns legally?

I also want to know about the crazy people. Were those people exposed to video games? Are they mental health patients? Are they are pharmaceuticals (prescribed or otherwise)?

I think shootings are about more than just guns. They are about people who are hurting and or angry. People who are broken and in need of a savior.

To say guns are the problem is wrong. Guns are not the problem. The problem is there are people who are lost and many of them don't even know they are lost and they just take out their pain on the world in whatever way presents itself.

So how can we solve the problem? We can start by not being part of it. We can start by being there for people who are hurting, lost, angry, broken and helping to meet their needs (His hands extended). We can start by being the body of Christ like we are supposed to be.

We can stop trying to make these shootings a political cause and start making them a personal cause by looking around us. We can open our eyes and let Him show us who is hurting around us and needing a little more love or patience or understanding. We can give a little more, sacrifice a little more, share a little more, open ourselves up a little more.

I don't usually write about guns... but it has been in the news like crazy and on my mind.

What say you?

Cool cakes, dude.  Check out this former math teacher's excellent pancake making skills.  His kids will never be the same.  How will they ever just  enjoy a simple round pancake?  But, cool, right?

I told you so.

Check out his other pancake "sets", as well (Craving Star Wars, anyone?) #pancakes   #starwars #funparents +Laughing Squid
