I'm writing this because I had a really racist encounter with one of the servers at this restaurant. I looked at the menu and I liked the uniqueness of the place. I also like that the menu reads "We don't hire robots so sorry if the servers are unpredictable" I can't say for word, but I found that pretty quirky and I got a laugh out of it. I tried to order and the server gave me really a negative service. He said he was working the patio so I walked directly behind him and he let the door close on me. At that point I was ready to leave and as I'm leaving on the man says good we don't need anyone "BLACK" in here. And one of his friends followed with "Freak". As odd as it sounds I've never had any direct racist experience in my life. And by that, I mean no one has ever treated me badly because of my skin tone up until now in THIS restaurant. I like servers being themselves because it makes the restaurant more authentic, but that's horrible they would hire racist people who will insult their guest and treat them with bad service because they are black. Unbelievable. I will never set foot in there again.

I like this place a lot under the right conditions, but it is certainly a dive. They embrace the dive label, and it works. My main issue is on weekends it is frequently very crowded and very loud, so much so it can sometimes be difficult to hold a conversation. Add live music to that equation and I quickly lose interest. With that said, they have a great beer selection and the food is pretty good. I would rather come here on a Tuesday or Wednesday than a Friday or Saturday.

Loud, packed, best "dive" bar in Silver Spring. Great beer and whiskey selection. Even better wings.

Local favorite! A great little dive bar with reasonably prices food and about a million drink options. The best deal has to be the Monday half off burgers, plus they give you tater tots! Where else can you get those other than at a school lunch cafeteria. But seriously the tater tots are good. If you're a fan try the totchos, nacho toppings on a bed of tater tot. The wings are also one of my favorites, saucy but no soggy.

The prompt for this asks me to describe my experience at the QH. INCONCEIVABLE! Food is good, bourbon is better, the staff is the best. They're not open yet today...if they had any windows I'd go stare in them like a creeper till they let me in. Instead I'll just stand at the bottom of the stairs and wait.

I've been a QH visitor since grad school over a decade ago, but a fan since Jackie's/Sidebar owner Jackie Greenbaum purchased it a few years ago. A true dive, this basement bar has come a long way from a grimey den and is now firmly in the hipster elite. The quality burgers and legendary tater tots are a huge draw. The deep beer and whiskey list is fantastic, along with an friendly staff willing to help you sort through it all. Monday nights are half priced burger nights, but get there early (after 1800 and you'll be waiting for at least 30 minutes). But it's worth it, and even worth it at full price.

first i get there and the building was burnt down so I could not get in. Then nobody would answer the phone to come serve me a drink on the sidewalk. What kind of business are they running over there?
