With sperm whales you really feel a connection, which is totally different to other animals. Sperm whale vocalizations have long fascinated scientists for one reason in particular. They are almost inconceivably loud.
Sperm whales range across the open ocean, but they typically gather at deep canyons, to socialise, mate and huntfood sources no other predator can reach. They dive up to 10,000ft under the ocean surface, hunting for fish and giant squid.

A great white shark cage breaching the side of the cage with air-hose supplied "snorkeler" / photographer in it.
Beside of opening the top entrance to cage by a crew member the outcome was pure luck and not a "outstanding job" by crew.
Somebody contesting that remark never seen a large shark in a frenzy

A dazzling sea that Jacques Cousteau once called “the world’s aquarium” is now in jeopardy.
Decades of overfishing and commercial development have taken their toll, dramatically reducing the number of fish in the sea and causing widespread devastation by pollution.
The Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California, has been in the news recently because of a new report documenting the decline of the vaquita, a rare species of porpoise endemic to the northern part of the gulf. It is the world’s most endangered marine mammal, and its recent decline is staggering.

The Omura’s whale (Balaenoptera omurai) was described as a new species in 2003. Known only from whaling and stranding specimens primarily from the western Pacific and eastern Indian Oceans, there was no confirmed field observations or ecological/behavioral data.
Now whale researchers have discovered a population of Omura's whales living near Madagascar.

Free diver Natalia Molchanova descends for fun, then vanishes.
Natalia Molchanova, widely regarded as the greatest free diver in history, wore her favorite purple wet suit Sunday on a chartered boat off the coast of Formentera, an island near Ibiza.
When Ms. Molchanova failed to surface after her dive, her fellow divers conducted a brief search before calling for help via radio. A flotilla of private boats and the local Coast Guard deployed. Air support was added from a Helimar 213 chopper, and the search lasted until dark. It resumed Monday morning.
Ms. Molchanova remained missing Tuesday, when the search expanded to include the use of an underwater robot capable of searching a radius of nearly 500 meters at depth.
