Great interior, but food is mediocre at best. Out of the 5 dishes we ordered not one was well prepared or tasty. What a shame!

The Napoleon appetizer. Just for that plate the place would steal 5 stars. But there is so much more to it than superb food. Consistent quality for more than 9 years that I have known this place. By far the best kept secret in the Hartford area. The staff is always excellent, very attentive but not intrusive. The owner/ chef is very nice, genuine, passionate and quirky. She comes out to check on the people when she is not working magic in the kitchen. Amazing.

The comment box here encourages the customer to "Describe your experience". I have dined in places from Sydney, Australia and Tokyo, Japan to Brussells, Belgium & Paris, France. I have encountered many different styles and types of foods as varied in quality and intensity as their staff and location. I had never had Mediterranean and I was looking forward to my first experience. The Host permitted myself and my date 3 minutes before opening. A pleasant surprise as most American restaurants seem to dread opening their doors. The owner was just entering the kitchen with a hand full of fresh Cilantro which she playfully offered to us. We playfully declined to which she playfully replied, "Then get out!" The service was excellent. The food, music, decor and ambiance were perfect. We started with a serving of warm bread with olive oil. Just as we finished them our Falafel appetizer arrived followed by our main course. (All well timed) I had the Sausage and Blue Cheese Flat Bread. My date had the Pumpkin Ravioli with Caramalized Onion. The blends of flavor were balanced superbly. My date and I are of a routinely Organic-Only diet and rarely dine out as most foods in most establishments don't often use the best ingredients. And this inevitably leads to expected indigestion for us. No such issue at Arugula. My only regret is that I failed to leave adequate room for dessert as the reviews below make me wish I had. This location embodies the essence of what one could expect from international experiences. Treat your staff as you would treat good friends and family and you will be rewarded with the memories you walked in hoping to find. "Iontaobhas sa Taithí" Thank you Arugula. We will definitely return.

Had a very accommodating server who made us feel welcome. Delicious eggplant and wonton napoleon, prosciutto and artichoke flatbread, and duck confit flatbread. Thank god we shared dessert because the portion was huge and decadent. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Found this little gem of a restaurant by accident this weekend and LOVED it! I've lived in Europe and this place really does remind me of being over there. Tables are very close together and cozy, the waitstaff and owner were wonderful (not "fake" nice but honestly nice once you started a conversation with them) and the food was delicious! I have to comment that I normally eat all organic food and on the few occasions when I do eat out I usually have a horrible stomach ache afterward because of all the chemicals, added flavorings, etc in the conventional foods normally served. Not at Arugula! I felt great after I ate here. The food tasted real, had wonderful and surprising flavor combinations and was presented beautifully. I highly recommend it! We had the falafal, pumpkin ravioli and sausage/fig/Asiago flatbread - everything was amazing but the flatbread was truly a masterpiece. Thanks for a wonderful evening Arugula! :)

Arugula hasn't shared anything with you.
