You need to check out the Detroit Institute of Art--there is a multi-story gorgeous fresco by Diego Rivera depicting, both literally and symbolically, the American auto industry. They did an exhibit last year with a bunch of his preparatory stuff (and his wife Frida Kahlo and her work)--but the outcome is fantastic.
"Chief Tuscumbia Greets the Dickson Family" Jack McMillen I'm a sucker for art on a grand scale, like murals on the side of multi-story buildings, and the artist who wraps entire structures in fabric. I don't see many fabric-...

I'm impressed. I always make a to do list, but I usually only manage half the stuff because things take so much longer than I think they should.
I'm generally a pretty organised person, though I joke with friends that since I started working for myself, I've had a terrible boss who never lets me have any time off and always thinks I can get more done in the day. Aft...

I'm really poor at guessing how long things will take. Sometimes I then just allow a certain amount of time to get on with stuff and stop when the time is up - then at least SOME of it was done and I can move on...
I've been offline for 11 days so apologies for the delay in replying! Just managing to start catching up...

I can add wee enlightenment as to why we make such a big to-do in the US... it is part of the Patriotism Brainwashing Machine. We can't be such large world asses, all superior and such, unless we begin our indoctrination early, teaching small children how nice we were to the Indians. sigh  I'm probably bitter because I don't even like turkey.
This is going to sound like a bad 90s stand-up routine, but what's up with Canadian Thanksgiving anyway? In the US, Thanksgiving is a huge event, celebrated by massive football games (which are seemingly equivalent in pomp an...

Well, yes, once you've reached the age where no more learning is likely to occur.

It's official. I love you. I promise not to become a weirdo stalker chick but this delighted me. And proves crazy theories can be "proven" which is a nice reminder.

Thank you for this--I loved the show and have never seen this.

My only lost body parts have all been teeth thus far, but I hear you on the babies. My older is still technically living at home, but my younger leaves for college in the fall... that will be very strange.

Yeh know what you mean. Skype is good as they can still put their hands out for whatever they need and you can see if their rooms are tidy.

Well said, Bloggess. Well said.
Ugh. Just. No. This morning Victor woke me up and took me to coffee because he wanted to break the news to me that Alan Rickman had died. And then I cried so hard that he decided to go through the drive-through and the cashier at Starbucks looked at me like, “Should I call the police?

Love your trailer!  Looks spooky. I think you should shoot for a spooky date to release it--Halloween would have been the obvious choice, but I bet you can figure out a creepy holiday (or birth date) in winter--Severus Snape is January 9 if you need ideas... Seriously though--something like Edgar Allen Poe or HP Lovecraft's birthdays...
So another month came and went. As you may have guessed, I DID NOT win the Nerdist Publishing contract. Several cools books did win, however, and you could do worse than to check them out. I ordered all of the top 5 myself, a...

I definitely think he will come back. And I think there WILL be a Clegane Bowl, but I don't think Cersei's trial is sufficient to get him to give up his quiet life. I think Clegane Bowl will happen at a later date when SANSA is captured, brought to King's Landing and put on trial for Joffrey's murder.

So here is my version... Sansa and Theon find Brienne but they are being pursued by Ramsay's HOUNDS, so Theon goes north toward the wall to throw the dogs off and tell Jon where to look for Bran and Rickon and Sansa goes south (back toward the Vale) with Brienne on... ready for it? The cart Gilly and Sam have. In the Riverlands they are stopped by Sam's dad who berates his son about the Maester thing, berates Brienne for being a female soldier, then decides to turn Sansa over to the Lannisters. Brienne fights him, Sansa manages to find the brotherhood who protect her and that Stoneheart-ish story begins. Sansa will eventually be captured anyway and THAT will be Clegane bowl (not for Cersei who will win her trial) At the wall Mel will sacrifice Theon (kings blood) to raise Jon.
