About Encryption on Android. I was debating it for a long time, but not now after reading up online. This 'sum-up-facts' quote says it all really:
"The 16 character limit. Stupid.
Requires you to enter key twice upon cold boot. Stupid.
Same key for disk and lock. Extremely stupid.
Only encrypting /data. Well… not sure, yet.
And last a 70-90% disk r/w performance loss. Unacceptable.

4 years down the line and Android can't implement a good encryption method, without sacrificing user experience and read/write performance............
