Founded in San Francisco in 1969, Oceanic Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of marine life in ecologically important areas across the globe. Over the past four decades we have developed a unique and effective approach that combines science, community engagement, and experience-driven outreach to create lasting change in the places we work. Our strengths are engaging people in conservation through experience, contributing to the establishment of marine reserves, and supporting community-based conservation initiatives.
