Google+ Ripples now appear in real-time

Ripples are a great way to watch how public posts get shared across Google+ (http://goo.gl/6qhVu). Today, as part of my summer internship, I'm happy to roll out real-time Ripples. This means that reshares and comments on public posts now “ripple” as they happen.

To give it a try just find an active public post, select "View Ripples" from the drop-down menu, and watch the activity unfold (reshare publicly to watch your own post appear!). The Explore page is a great place to start looking for active posts (plus.google.com/explore).

Psyched that my team just shipped a Google+ share button. Any website can embed it, and bam -- their users will be able to easily share stuff they like to their people on G+. Here's the blog post:

This is my group's latest G+ launch!  It's not live for all users yet, but you can see what's it about below, and opt in to a group if you have to use it NOW.  Otherwise, we'll be rolling it out to everyone over the next week or two.
We’re launching +1 recommendations! +1’ing something has always been a fun and lightweight way to engage with online content. It’s also a powerful discovery tool, making it easier for friends to find the best content by showing social annotations in search results and ads, and now we’re taking it to the next level.

Try it out!  Recommendations are currently available to our platform preview group -- you can join the group here:  http://www.google.com/+/learnmore/platform-preview/

Once you’ve joined, go hover a +1 and discover recommendations for other awesome (on site) content!

We launched a new version of ripples! Now it works in all languages, and has really cool "url ripples". Please check it out.
Updates to Ripples: 60+ languages; see how links get shared
#googleplusupdate #ripples

Back in October, we launched ripples to help visualize how public posts get shared on Google+ (http://goo.gl/6qhVu). Today we're rolling out two improvements that bring ripples to more people, and more types of content. Check out a new ripple (http://goo.gl/6se8K)!

1) Like the rest of Google+ (http://goo.gl/1eSl0), ripples are now available in over 60 languages. So whether you prefer Viwimbi, Strengir, or Jeka, you can now watch the content you care about flow across the network.

2) Ripples can now show you how links get shared, not just individual posts. Take +Sundar Pichai's recent post about Chrome for Android, for example (http://goo.gl/u60O7):

- Before, ripples would only display activity around Sundar's specific post.
- Today, because Sundar attached a link to his post, ripples displays all public shares of that URL, all across Google+.
- To use this new feature, simply "View ripples" on any publicly-shared post with a link attachment (see screenshot), or visit a ripples page, then type the URL you're interested in.

As always, leave comments to let us know what you think!

This is my second product launch at Google. More of a feature than a product, but still cool: the G+ badge makes it easy for customers to add a business / brand to their circles, right from the business' own website.
Hi! I’m very excited to see our Google+ badge begin to roll out to our platform preview group this morning. The badge is going to be a great way to both grow your audience on Google+ and show more +1 recommendations around the web. Have a quick read about it on our Google+ platform blog, or head straight over to our Google+ badge configuration tool and create your site’s badge today! Remember, sign up for our Google+ Platform Preview Group first in order to be able to access the badge prior to our full launch.
