A few weeks ago, I helped out at this pop-up music event called Sofar Sounds, which brings music lovers together in secret living room locations across the world to hear and connect with cutting edge musicians.

This past location was hosted by 3 roommates; John, Dave and Brian at their fabulous house in the NOPA district of San Francisco. Bands that played included singer/songwriter Lauren O'Connell, alternative country/folk band Eight Belles, and indie rockers Mahgeetah.

As this was my first Sofar Sounds event, I was blown away by how intimate and spellbinding it all was. The atmosphere was filled with music lovers from all walks, including fans, industry folks and musicians a like. It's a great way to discover new music, some of which you may never have come across on your own, and to fully experience it in such a warm and welcoming setting.

If you have never been to a Sofar Sounds pop-up show before, I encourage you to try it out. These music gigs are happening in over 18 cities throughout the world, are free and BYOB. If you would like to host or are in a band that would like to play at an upcoming San Francisco Sofar show, please contact me.
