Established in 2013

Acquired from the previous owners at the end of October, 2013. New proprietors Michael Strauss and Pete Fry, in collaboration with Executive Chef Jennifer Choplin (formerly of SoWe, Butcher and Brewer) and Bar Manager Craig Steel (Starr, Garces alumni) are offering a rotating selection of craft beers on draught (including one nitro) and in bottles to go with Chef Choplin's local, seasonal farm-to-table inspired fare.

Went to tap room for taco Tuesday went inside asked were they doing outside seating. Guy with the nasty, greasy beard said yes, "I'll send out a server." After waiting for about 10 minutes, server never came, so I took the menu back to the guy with the nasty greasy beer behind the bar. Grease beard never even asked did our server come or why we were leaving. First and last time at Tap room on 19th.

I'm sorry to hear that Mia, that's certainly not the guest experience we're looking for. I hope you'll give us another chance, that is definitely not the norm, and I will check out who was on outside tables last night, and get that rectified! -Pete

Put my order in at 730 PM .. it's 9 PM and I'm still waiting for my app .. terrible kitchen times .. how long does it take to make a burger?! .. didn't communicate time, just kept blowing me off by saying "the kitchen is backed up" .. there's 5 people at the bar!!

Osvaldo, my apologies for your experience on Monday. We were definitely having some issues getting food out quickly from the kitchen, running over from the rush we had earlier in the evening. Still no excuse, and I do hope you'll give us another shot as that is certainly not the norm!

Taco Tuesdays are the best! Each week a different selection and they're not just "great" for $2... They're actually delicious! Servers and bartenders are always super nice and efficient!

UPDATE: I returned because they have yet another chef. The bacon, nutella, french toast was absolutely amazing. unfortunately, they were out of bananas that day. I had the omelette of the day, which was provolone, shitake mushrooms, and caramelized onions. There were no onions in it for some reason and barely any cheese. It was maybe a 2 egg omelette at the largest (I could have held it in my hand) and came with no sides. I suggest you go to Melrose Diner up the street for a cheaper omelette that is 4 times the size and more delicious. **they have delicious bloody mary's!** if it wasn't for the good drinks and french toast it would have been a bust. They're getting better but it's still a work in progress. So this was my favorite bar in the city (esp. under new management) but the menu changed and it looks like they got a new chef. This is a huge disappointment and my friends and I won't be coming here like we used to. The beer menu is good but that's it. The pretzel dish is nasty. I'm a huge foodie and now I'll be moving on to a different place...too bad, you did have some of the best food in the city until this change. I wish I had known, I would have come by and ordered like 10 things on the menu for a final feast.

I've been patronizing the TapRoom on 19th for over 6 years. I've watched the owners change but one thing was a given the servers and bartenders were ALWAYS customer oriented. WELL NOT ANYMORE! There's a bartender/server named MARK who is down right miserable, nasty, and definitely should change professions!!!! Mark gets very upset when the patron such as myself are Having a good time. Granted I'm not quite by any stretch but, sweetie if you want to work in a quiet atmosphere become a librarian not a bartender!! Needless to say I won't be returning! My advice is if your vocal/fun loving and don't want to be scolded for being as such STAY OUT OF THE TAPROOM WHEN MARKS WORKING!!!! I know it Monday's not really sure of the grinch who stole the good out of good times schedule!!! We wouldn't want to upset him by paying customers actually enjoying themselves. I didn't rush into writing because I am in the business ironically so I know the struggle. BUT THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME I HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF BEING ON THE RECEIVING END OF MARKS SOUR DISPOSITION and trust there will NEVER be a forth!!!!!!

Great location in South Philly with a good selection of draft beers. Interesting offerings for food and a very honest low key staff. A couple of tvs for watching the games. If I lived closer, I would totally frequently this establishment often.

Great lunch meal. The Anniversary Burger was top notch, and the all important pub fries made the grade. Fantastic beer rotation.

Sunday Brunch was made great with their Bloody Mary menu and the custom playlist was perfect!
