Yes coaching, management and resource are a problem in India. There is also issue of players dissatisfied with managers travelling business class and players in economy. Still, archers and shooters have got international exposure. They travel abroad. They are not that short of money and incentive. Boxers and wrestlers also got international exposure. Many badminton and tennis players are professional players with a lot of money. These categories were our medal hopes, not track and field athletes, swimmers, gymnasts etc. But our hopefuls have surrendered without a lot of fight. Tennis is out. Badminton Saina is out. Boxers are competing in a few categories, most of our men boxers are out. I have not heard of female boxers yet. Wrestlers have not come out as yet. Let us hope they compete. I think unlike in cricket and music shows, parents yet do not see a job opportunity for their kids opting to play sports. May be that is why we are in a sorry state. I had hoped this would be good opportunity to double our medal tally from London games.
