I'm hoping for some positive change in Egypt, but I'm worried it will take a lot longer...

Breathtaking moments can be helpful to mental health! What was your last moment like this?

A very interesting concept! I have a few clients that enjoy taking a walk through a beautiful part of town, and it's nice to see the research behind what many people already experience. I wonder how 'awe therapy' can help with other problems in life, besides feeling stretched for time.

I´m enjoying lovely Quito at COLAPESI - Congress of Latin American Psychology Students. About to give a talk on health and educational disparities in autism, and a potential model for considering multicultural issues in the assessment of autism spectrum disorders. Oh yeah, in SPANISH!!!

Great article about some of the issues with telepsychology. I'm more concerned about folks getting therapy with a drink in their hand!

Introduction

I am currently Associate Executive Director for APAGS at the American Psychological Association. I serve as the senior staff person representing graduate students within the association.

I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. I worked for nearly 7 years at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, where I was faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. I am currently licensed as a psychologist in Ohio.

My clinical interests lie in pediatric and child clinical psychology. I have expertise in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and aggressive behavior. I am also experienced in providing bilingual services to Spanish-speaking children and families.

I have published professionally in the areas of autism, self-care among psychology graduate students, and the ethics of social networking for psychologists.

Bragging rights
An interview I did on the 2009 Stress in America survey by APA was published in over 30 newspapers around the world, including Mexico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Colombia. In October 2011, I attended COLAEPSI, the Latin American Congress of Psychology Students, in Quito, Ecuador, and gave two presentations in SPANISH!
