I had a jeep grand Cherokee too! It was white and we got it to be 100k before turning it in. Gas was also 99cents a gallon.

My Valentine's Day* chocolate gifts to Nelson, in all of their cute and amazing glory!

* On Valentine's Day in Japan, it's the women who shower men with chocolate; men return the favor on March 14, White Day, with white chocolate and gifts that are at least 3x more expensive than what the women had spent!

+Sadhana Nathan Me, too! I had too much fun shopping for chocolate. +Michael Wyszomierski After hearing about the 3x rule, +Nelson Bradley requested that I only spend ¥100 (approx. $1.08 USD) on his gift. Ignored his request. :)

Think of it as Japanese gelato/sorbet. You'll find many standard flavors such as strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and the like, but you'll also find a variety of interesting, local flavors such as black sesame, milk, red bean, and tomato. You get to choose from four different cup sizes, of which you can fill with three flavors of your choice. A wafer cookie accompanies each order, as well as some palate-cleansing salty kelp. Some flavors change daily and others appear seasonally so be sure to come back and try them all! Every one is delicious and refreshing. The shop itself is very cute and inviting, providing a nice atmosphere to enjoy your treat, though seating is limited. Flavors are displayed in both Japanese and English.

I love everything about this cafe. It's full of great, retro, Scandinavian furniture, old books and magazines, and lots of dark wood and leather. They serve delicious coffee cocktails, which I've never encountered before. And it's only a hop, skip, and a jump away from Nata de Cristiano's and their delicious egg tarts. So, first, head over to Nata de Cristiano's and grab some egg tarts to-go, then pop into Fuglen for a coffee cocktail and enjoy. You'll have the best afternoon ever!

The restaurant is modern, sleek, and beautiful and the service was very attentive. They offer a great full-course, prix-fixe lunch menu (at ¥2900) that provides more than enough to eat. The food was good, but nothing spectacular, especially the main dish (fowl) which I found to be way over-seasoned. Overall, it's not bad, but there are plenty of better French options in Tokyo.

Their pancakes are light, fluffy, and well-sized, and come with various fruit toppings. Good pancakes, but not worth waiting in line for, as you'll often see one forming outside after noon. Come before noon or in the evening to avoid a crowd.

Located on the first floor of the Joel Robuchon palace, La Table (2 Michelin stars) offers a slightly more modern and casual setting than it's fancier, up-stairs counterpart, Joel Robuchon Restaurant (3 Michelin stars). Go for their prix-fixe lunch menu (weekdays only) as they are more affordable, starting at ¥2900, and offer a great sampling of fine French cuisine. You MUST try the "Sea Urchin with a delicate crustacean jelly and a cauliflower cream" dish as it is beautiful, delicious, and unique. This restaurant is highly recommended; however, for a truly special experience and occasion with amazing food, you should go to the 2nd floor, to Joel Robuchon Restaurant, which I rate 5 stars. (They have bread and dessert carts. Enough said.)

We ordered chips, salsa, guacamole, with burritos and tacos. Oh-so bland, puny portions of everything, and very overpriced for what you get (bill came to about ¥6000). Having spent a lot of time in California where cheap, delicious, authentic Mexican food abounds, this place was probably doomed to disappoint. However, judging the food on it's own merits, it's still not very good at all. The staff was at least very friendly and helpful, and the decor is festive.

Considering the Mexican food scene in Tokyo, it's not bad and does the job to calm (not cure) a Mexican food craving. It's pretty much a fake Chipotle, down to the branding and lime-cilantro rice, which should give you an idea of what you're going to get if you're familiar with the original brand. Only, it's double the price, portions are smaller, and the flavors are milder. I like to get the steak burrito bowl–the steak is usually seasoned and cooked well and it's a better value considering the amount you get. However, their online-ordering service is bad and I would not recommend it. My order is never ready at my requested time and I end up having to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for it to be completed.
