That's an unfortunate typo, News 4, but not altogether surprising.

M E M O R A N D U M TO: Ann Romney RE: Enough Already With the Mom Pandering! Like many others I am a registered voter and a citizen who wants greatness not only to flourish in the United States of America, but in countries all over the world. Grateful we didn't have to wait in line doing the paperwork, but we did have to stand quite a while in the parking lot where it was extremely hot. There was a small pop up tent for shade, so that was appreciated. However, maybe just some simple signage that says, "Please wait for the next available agent" or something similar as we wondered where everyone was. Also, leaving the airport and rental car facility was confusing. A map would have been helpful on just how to exit and to return the vehicle, which would reduce a traveler's stress.

I reserved two skis for my family the day before. I had called to try to make reservations the day of but they were booked, so I would suggest not doing this at the last minute. We scheduled the two hour safari at 4:00 which was the final excursion of the day. In hindsight, this was perfect as I think it allowed our guides to give us some extra time on the skis. Our tour did start late due to some undisclosed issues with the previous tour, but the staff kept us informed and were appropriately apologetic. When it was our turn, everyone scheduled at that time was led down to the skis and allowed to board, which is when they discussed safety and training. It's a very short presentation, but make sure to pay attention. There's no time later! Operators of the skis must be 16 or older with valid DL. Our 14 yo rode with dad and my 7 yo rode with me. Passengers get the advantage of taking in the scenery, which according to my daughter wasn't very exciting. However, when we hit the wakes or snaking through the waterways (aka "shredding" according to our guides), she LOVED it! I was scared out of my mind I was going to lose her off the back, but she easily held onto my life vest's straps. Once past the no wake zone, it's pretty much throttle out. Communication with others in the group is hand signals only. My daughter could barely hear me when I yelled for her to hold on tight. I personally found the best position of the group was behind the leader because it had the least amount of wake. Later when I ended up 6th in the line, it seemed to be choppier. For the first hour, speeds ranged for our group between 30-40 mph. I am definitely beginner level so it took a bit to relax and feel comfortable at the throttle. There's a short stop at Sandy Island where our guide helped us bank the skis and take a short walk. There are no public accommodations once on the ski so make sure your party takes a potty break before. After our island stop, we took a different waterway to return, but frankly to me it all looked very much the same because I was so focused on keeping up and not losing my little passenger. While not ideal for the under 16, it's doable. I wouldn't recommend bringing children under the age of 6. Imagine driving two hours with a small child...it's like THAT. Other recommendations is leave all your personal items in your car: no jewelry, hats, drinks, wallets, etc. The staff will hold your car keys. We wore our swimsuits with t-shirts to reduce chafing from the vests and left our shoes on the dock. Both kids had goggles, which I know my youngest put on after we started. My son had a hat, but within seconds of taking off, he had to stuff it into his vest. I wore a bandana, which helped keep my hair from whipping me in the face, but even that came off before we were halfway done. I put it back on when we had our break but tied it tighter. I wore sunglasses too. When I turned to look behind me I would have to hold them on. I also wish I had been able to get pictures of the four of us on our skis. Next time I'll ask the guide to take our picture then he or she text them to me. BTW, there's a little storage box on the ski just in case you need to store something away. With that being said, we will definitely go again. My husband wasn't thrilled with the idea when I first proposed it, but once we were going, he agreed it was a lot of fun. Hydrate and apply sunscreen before! Don't bother with vanity. Your hair will look like Kraemer's from Seinfeld upon conclusion.

This is a gorgeous drive. Make sure to gas up, take a bathroom break, and stock up a cooler and picnic at The Needles Eye, or any of the other numerous stops.

It seemed like a logical stop to make during our vacation. Our 10 year old liked the snake show. The gator/croc show was informative and entertaining. The fees seem high, but the grounds were lovely. My 3 year old enjoyed the simple play park as she didn't want to sit through the Snake Show. Since I can now say I've been there, I can't say I'd come back.

Our room (a "suite") was used and abused. Dirty linen was left in the room from the previous tenent. Toilets were not cleaned during our stay (I had to call housekeeping to do it for us). Even with several emails to management, they refuse to make any kind of amends. If your family is adament about going to the waterpark, there are plenty of nice areas located within the vicinity. The room rates are double, if not more, than you would pay anywhere else for better accomodations.

No value for your dollar, sorry. And so depressing, all those animals bored and panting away in the heat. Bear cubs were adorable, but not $50 worth of adorable.
