Perhaps you were always annoyed like me, when people could just add you to groups without your consent. Even if you could exit the group eventually, it unnecessarily sought your attention and besides, some group admins have the guts to add you back. Now the good news is that whatsapp will finally let you to decide on whether to accept or reject group invitations.

Happy to be the first to perhaps share the sentiments of the scheduled Launch of a new e-learning platform, probably similar to Ruzivo digital learning but with even more services to elearners across Zimbabwe. It seems that a lot of elearning progress is being witnessed in Zimbabwe this year. We previously saw how ZIMSEC for the first time launched an online portal to access results online and this helped thousands of Zimbabwean learners. Here are the services to be provided by ZIMSAKE elearning website according to the information we recieved.

I put that video on my WhatsApp status for a few minutes and it was only accessible to my contacts and it was surprising that within a few minutes one of my contacts had already downloaded it and eventually circulated it. Many people do not understand how the whatsapp status feature really function. They think that no one can download the content. Some feel that, its okay to post whatever content as long as it is accessible to certain contacts only. But here is what you need to know about whatsapp status relative to Lorraine's narration below.

Strive and Tsitsi Masiyiwa offers a hundred million dollar funding for local Zimbabwean entrepreneurs in the rural areas which is in the form of collateral-free loans. According to a post on Strive's Facebook page, this money is coming from their own "pockets", its their personal money. Here is what he says:

I recently published an article on this blog, talking about the dangers of social media flirting.  It is my sincere hope that many who managed to read the article took heed. Social media recently saw one Zimbabwe girl Lorraine Guyo getting into trouble after recording a video of herself asking men in general to propose to her ahead of the Valentines day. The "Ndinyengeiwo" fame seeker/comedian got into trouble after jokingly recording a video of herself f asking men to propose to her and unleashed it to social media. Subsequent events saw a video of a completely naked woman much similar to her circulating on social media and this got her in  big trouble.

Many people who are also referred to as dislike mobs, deliberately down votes or dislike videos on YouTube without even judging the videos or content according to the subject that it relates to. This is done to discredit the video owner or brand involved. YouTube discovered that dislike mobs are weaponizing the feature, using the button to unnecessarily bomb a video. Tom Leung, who is YouTube's project management director said that several options are being discussed, including the removal of the ‘thumbs down’ button.

One of the major social media swallow holes that both men and women, the young and the old have fallen into in Zimbabwe is social media flirting. By definition, to flirt is to playfully behave as though one is sexually attracted to someone, yet with serious intentions. The temptations of flirting on social media may come very slowly disguised in questionable friendships, lustful behaviors and erotic exchanges. The temptation is as captivating as a python such that before one knows it, it is usually too late to circumvent.

The new millennium saw the bloom of home recordings. Individuals can now create decent sounding quality music at very low costs using cheap equipment. This is contrary to the time prior to the 70s where only the affluent artists could afford to produce high quality music in a well built and acoustically treated studio with large mixer boards, analog and digital equipment such as compressors and amplifiers.

So Telecel has just launched their new WIFI modems suitable for home and office use at a much lower price than both ZOL and NetOne. This follows the launch of its pilot LTE service late last year and is a step further with increased coverage and the scope of the service. It is now offering modems and bundles meant to ensure complimentary usage of the service.

So April this year will see Google putting an end to Google+ a platform they developed as a social platform for their users . One had to have a Google Account to be able to create a Google+ profile. The platform was intended to function competitively with other social platforms such as Facebook and Pinterest. It however did not work like that on the ground for individuals as most preferred other social media platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. For businesses though, the platform was doing well, satisfactorily perhaps. But because many individuals deserted it, Google+ became more like a ghost town. On top of this, it had more issues, that Google might have considered.
