I wrote this a while back but, when I re-read, still thought it was pretty good!
I thought that the Godin One (or possibly Mack Collier) had come up with the idea that companies should emulate rock bands and cultivate fans, not customers.

My continued support is something you can count on sir. Bank on. Lean on. I'm your man when it comes to the continuity of support. Yes sir. That's me. Matthew T. Grant -- I've known the guy like forever. I like what he does, I like the way he thinks. What's not to like? Yes, he has my support. Allow me to switch to the second person for a moment -- ah ... you get the picture. I'm not a Dostoevsky character after all. No not me. Not living in some Petersburgian hidey hole scribbling notes with a worn out coat. No, I'm coming up. I'm supporting. I have no readers. Maybe i have one reader. I'll get back to you on that one.
