Looks like a Netflix Horror Series...
But it's real life. And in the UK... :-(
Here's a catch-up on the story so far:

* Theresa May is the new UK Prime Minister. As the Last Candidate Standing, she seemed acceptable only because the other candidates pushed the Overton Window so far to the right that she looked like a left-winger by comparison. In fact she is a Religious Right authoritarian who wants to block immigration and who was the force behind Britain's surveillance state expansion & favours empowering the Ministry of Magic to make it so.

* Boris Johnson is the new UK Foreign Minister. Don't be fooled by the stand-up-comic persona. Although a Remain supporter as late as February, he was one of the leaders of the Leave campaign for apparently tactical reasons and is perfectly happy with rhetorical untruth in the style of Trump if it's what his audience wants to hear. A highly-paid and eloquent national newspaper columnist for the right-wing Daily Telegraph (he was sacked by The Times for making up quotes), he has used his column to make offensive racist comments about all sorts of foreign nationals. As Mayor of London he bought water cannon to use against British citizens, a move so extreme Theresa May (then Home Secretary) ridiculed and blocked it. Since he was born in the USA, he was subject to US tax law but delinquent in submitting returns so has renounced his US citizenship to evade those responsibilities. Even he was surprised to have been appointed.

* Liam Fox is the new "Trade Secretary". He previously resigned in shame from a similar position in an earlier government when it was discovered he had been taking a relative along to sit in on trade negotiations and make side deals. Fox was a Leave campaigner comfortable with "contextual truth'.

* David Davis is the new minister for Brexit (a not-unreasonable decision since defining, negotiating and executing Brexit will be a more-than-full-time job needing a huge civil service team for the next 5 years). Davis is currently suing the UK government in the EU courts. Davis was a Leave campaigner.

* Liz Truss is the new Justice Minister and is committed to scrapping the UK's human rights act, a move that will be essential if May's surveillance society is to escape censure by the European Court of Human Rights to which the UK will otherwise remain accountable independent of BrExit. She's also keen to cut the costs of the justice system. She may have been a Remain person but the Britain she wants to Remain in will have a new, authoritarian-friendly Bill of Rights with access to justice a privilege rather than a right.

* Amber Rudd (home secretary) and Philip Hammond (Chancellor of the Exchequer) both seem safe pairs of hands at this point relative to the others, albeit telling the truth about the consequences of Brexit which makes them sound extreme. So it looks like management of domestic affairs is in "remain" hands and of foreign affairs is with a bunch of extremists who at best will destroy their own careers and at worst will start another war.
