Congrats on your wedding (and stuff)! Definitely an excellent reason to take some time off. I look forward to your return.

Gah! I just ran in to these two videos and what a battle but where is part three? Such a great pass at the end of part two and I need to know what happened!

Great idea. I may be trying to make something with it. Don't have much call for jewelry but I like playing with composites and this is really cool for something decorative.

Have you considered vacuum infusing epoxy for those rings? If you infuse epoxy into the partially completed blanks (once you have cut it and exposed more of the wood) that may be enough to give it the strength required to complete the turning. This technique is often used for infusing epoxy stabilizer for pen blanks.

Thanks for watching and the thoughts.

I think you might be right. I have some stabilizing resin but not a vacuum chamber... Maybe I'll keep my eye out for a used vacuum pump!

Just found your channel as a recommendation in "what to watch" and subscribed after I saw your shop tour and barn door videos.  I subscribed not necessarily because of what you presented but the personable and easygoing way you presented it. I will continue to watch your videos as long as you continue being you.

+April Wilkerson, I just checked out a couple of your videos and they are great as they are. Don't listen to the nay-sayers and just keep doing what you're doing. Thanks to awesome +Scott Petersen for pointing you out.

The thing that amazes me most is less the end result, but the mind (yours) that is able to come up with the technique to get the end result.

Your method of subtracting the stock width when measuring for a cut with a 45 deg. is brilliant. One of those DOOOOHHHH moments.

Very nice. I really like the sound at about 3:56 of the trucks running over what I presume is a switch. The sound and timing is just like a full size train.

Too bad about the sanding but I hope this stuff is less dusty than drywall compound.

I hadn't noticed that till you pointed that out, it does sound quite nice, as for the dust I have no idea what will happen but the shop vac stays in the train room 8-)
