Our friends at Westwood Gallery and Westwood Regional School District’s Art Department are proud to announce “WWRSD has heART,” a student art exhibit about the meaning of having heart. Students were encouraged to reflect on the topic and create an original work of art in response. About one hundred images were submitted by students in grades K through 12. A committee of administrators and art educators selected 15 winning images. An opening reception will be held Thursday, February 5th, from 6PM – 8 PM and the artists will be signing their prints. Admission is free and open to the public. The exhibit will continue through February 21st.

8” x 10” prints of the artwork are being sold to benefit Artworks, the Naomi Cohain Foundation, providing children and young adults access to creative arts programs for healing, communication, and self-expression. “Frozen Heart,” a painting by 12-year-old ArtWorks participant Kenya Pagan, is included in the show. Prints by all of the artists in the show can be purchased for $5 at the Westwood Gallery or from Pamela Duffus at pamela.duffus@wwrsd.org. 100% of the profits will be donated to this worthy cause. This year, note cards are also available at 1 for $3, 5 for $10 (mix and match) and all 15 images for $20.

The prints and cards make an excellent Valentine’s gift! Please support these students in using their talents to make a difference for our community.
