Guilt Ridden Pop Based out of the crazy fertile Minneapolis/St Paul scene and run by the very astute Keith Moran, this little-label-that-could (and can) brought us “The Return of the Multiple Cat” last year along with gems from Brief Candles and the Chambermaids. CITC has learned that singer/songwriter Jesse Winchester has died. He was 69. Winchester, whose work was covered by everyone from Joan Baez to Elvis Costello, died in his sleep. His Facebook page reads: ”Friends, our sweet Jesse died peacefully in his sleep this morning…Bless his loving heart.” The Louisiana-born musician dodged the Vietnam War and established himself in Quebec in 1967. Befriended by Robbie Robertson, Winchester’s debut boasted b...

The Kooks’ R&B-inspired new single “Down” sounds like nothing the band has ever done before. With its funky beats, infectious vocals, and general grooviness, “Down” is one of four songs featured on The Kooks’ Down EP, which comes out on April 29. The other three tracks – “Hooray for Henry,” “Hold On,” and “Melody Maker” – are exclusive to the EP, while “Down” will appear on the band’s forthcoming LP. LISTEN NOW to “Down”:   The Kooks are Luke Pri...

So first thing’s first. Horse Thief’s Fear in Bliss is good. The song writing and melodies make for plenty of pretty moments, and the big production always keeps these songs interesting. But perhaps therein lies the album’s problem, its crutch. With every track, I can’t escape the feeling that these songs needed a little more time in the oven. The outsides could be more crisp, the insides less doughy. Viewed in this light, the great production se...

Alex Chilton. The name alone incites mystery, reverence, frustration, envy, energy, boundless talent, even more boundless ambition… And Holly George-Warren’s equally ambitious A Man Called Destruction: The Life and Music of Alex Chilton is a courageous attempt to capture the essence of a man who, to use Walt Whitman’s oft-quoted but definitely apropos phrase, “contains multitudes.” Indeed, Chilton’s multitudinous existence as teen heartthrob lead...

Story
Introduction

I’m currently in the process of wrapping three majors at UWSP in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Web and Digital Media Development (WDMD), and Philosophy with emphasis in Religious Studies. Currently, I am a VB.NET programmer at Sentry Insurance, Social Media dude for Planet Label, and computer, social media, and web guy at the Stevens Point Brewery.

I specialize in .NET and the Adobe Flash platform, but also love HTML/CSS, JavaScript/AJAX, PHP, and SQL, to name a few. I have an appreciation for the design side of the web, too, and content management systems such as Joomla or Wordpress.

When I am not developing or designing, you can catch me reading about Comparative Religion, Philosophy, Physics, and the occasional fairy tale or two. I also love going to concerts.
