I can't wait for true development to begin on this.

In case you missed this morning’s I/O keynote, here are some of the features coming soon to Chromecast and Chromebooks:

Chromecast
We are bringing a new look to chromecast.com/apps, making it easier for you to find and discover more Google Cast Ready apps. We also announced new features that will be rolling out later this year -- including the ability to cast exactly what’s on your Android phone or tablet directly to the TV, and allowing others to cast to your television without needing to be on the same WiFi network. Also, you’ll soon see a new backdrop experience that you can personalize with photos, works of art, and more when your TV is in ambient mode.

Chromebook
Your Chromebook and Android phone will soon work better together with new notifications like SMS and incoming phone calls appearing directly on your Chromebook. You can also say goodbye to typing in your password on your Chromebook -- if you and your phone are nearby, your Chromebook will automatically unlock.  Finally, we’re bringing a hand-picked set of Android apps to Chromebooks later this fall, starting with Evernote, Vine and Flipboard. Want to see your favorite Android apps on Chromebooks? Nominate them at chromebook.com/newapps.

Maybe if they came up with an Earth-Shattering design, or some absolutely Gotta Have feature like they used to, then the sales would be through the roof again.

I've had this rant time and time again. It's about damn time Apple get's called out on their crap. It's time for collaboration, not litigation!
