New Flipboard App is very slick. If you like to browse random news the interface works really well . Intuitive and responsive with just enough flare.

Interesting that the same people that downplayed or criticized the Touchpad are now trying to save it. Also interesting how people seem to initially be interested in the Amazon Fire mostly based on price and not functionality.

Leo replaced by Meg

Funny how many new firesale Touchpad owners say how much they like it more than they thought they would and how it does everything they need once they take their iPad blinders off. Some say it lacks apps.. I say go use the flash website that you can't get to on the iPad, which is the only reason the app was probably created in the first place. Apple has just made you even more lazy by making you think you need an app for everything that probably already exists in some other format on the web.

Always nice to have a Zagat review you can trust when searching for a new place.. instead of made up owner reviews you don't.. ala Yelp
Google Acquires Zagat

So, today, I'm thrilled that Google has acquired Zagat. Moving forward, Zagat will be a cornerstone of our local offering—delighting people with their impressive array of reviews, ratings and insights, while enabling people everywhere to find extraordinary (and ordinary) experiences around the corner and around the world.

If you needed any more evidence about how important Local is to Google ... here it is.

Touchpads sold out everywhere.. makes you wonder if maybe selling hardware at a loss is the way to go and what a lower initial price point would have done for sales. Make your margin in accessories, apps, services, etc..

Let's see.. unlimited data with bandwidth caps, and bandwidth throttling.. $30. unlimited texting.. $20 ... "legal" use of phone tethering $15 plus forfeit of unlimited data.. At what point is it not ok to charge multiple times for the same network bandwidth for data while charging an exorbitantly higher cost per bit for an inferior messaging network in parallel? What apps or tactics have you used to cut your monthly cell costs?

I'm already following more people on Google+ than I was on Twitter and my tendency to add people to circles is much greater due to its simplicity. The content and messages are more complete and interactive, allowing for ongoing conversations.
