I go to the melting pot a few times a month and I love it. Granted it is pricy, however, the staff is friendly and the food is fantastic. I noticed some reviewers have complained about how long it takes to cook the food, or flavors mixing. One must keep in mind, this restaurant is about the experience, and that takes time. In regards to flavors mixing, most tables only have one fondue pot (so you share the cooking median). If someone at your table dislikes a particular flavor it may be wise to compromise. If you go for the full meal, plan for more than an hour, and save room for desert. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I have :).

Experienced racism here! Our equipment at our table was faulty, we told the waitress multiple times, she refused to do anything about it. She cooked fondue on a burner that wasn't hot, it took her 10 minutes to cook the cheese, and managed to spill it everywhere. When we tasted it, it was cold. We had been there 40 minutes already and hadn't eaten anything, waiting for the burner to work. I told the waitress that we were going to leave, because it was too late to start all over again. She asked us to PAY for the bottle of wine we had ordered, which we didn't drink because our stomachs were empty. I told her NO, and asked for the manager. The manager took 5 minutes to walk over, we already had our coats on were about to walk out. She never introduced herself, so I don't know her name, but she was short and had blonde hair (I tried calling the restaurant back after I left, and not to my surprise no one answered the phone). All she offered was to move us to another table with a new server, never apologized and started asking me questions about what happened. I told her that multiple times I said the burner wasn't working to the waitress, and also had asked for her (the manager) to come over earlier, which was ignored. She yelled at me and said 'I JUST FOUND OUT NOW' and when I finally was fed up with speaking to her, I just said 'We're leaving' and she retorted with 'DON'T CAUSE A SCENE HERE' At that point I walked out. I didn't see anyone else being treated the way we were by the staff, we were the only people of color there, so unfortunately I am left to believe that they were treating us differently due to our nationality. It was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had, and I was humiliated. Regardless of how patient my family and I were being, we were treated as if we had done something wrong. I will probably never go to Melting Pot again, which is unfortunate. Really saddened by this incident, and surprised at the lack of training their staff and manager has been given.

The food platters were skimpy and left you hungry. But was a great experience none the less. The desert fondue is what it's all about, if anything go for that alone for about 16 a person.

Food: Fantastic. The meats were tasty, the cheeses were scrumptious. The dessert is to die for. Service: We made reservations the day of, which was the Monday before Thanksgiving in 2010. We got there on time and were promptly seated. Our waiter was fantastic. Atmosphere: It was a lot of fun cooking with friends. Value: Probably a bit pricey, but not enough to dock them for it. I'd go back. There are a few other cheese combos that I'd like to try.

I took my 10 year old daughter and her 6 friends for her birthday! We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and accomodating of our young crowd. My only issue is that you don't really get enough food for the prices. Aside from that, we had a wonderful evening!

Took my girlfriend here for Valentine’s Day last year, and we will never go back (Unless it is just for dessert). It’s probably the most over priced food I have ever paid for. Also just a heads up, for the main course I ordered more spicy meats and my gf did not (she hates spicy). But when we cooked them in the pot, the flavors of all the meat combined, giving it a weird flavor that was also spicy. Needless to say my girlfriend did not eat any of it. The worst part is you have to time how long your food is in the pot so you don’t get raw meat. SUCH A HASSLE! Because then you have to fish around in the pot until you find the right meat pieces. Like I said, good for dessert but terrible for anything else. If you really want to impress your girlfriend and be more intimate, buy your own fondue pot and the ingredients yourself. You will save yourself $50 bucks and have a better time.

The Melting pot on Concord Pike In DE, is a joke, We made reservation for dinner, when we got there they were rude and very snobish, The hostess acted like she could not be bother with us. When I she finally decided to look over at us, she says " what do you need?" Really?? Not very professonal, Told her that we had reservation for 5pm for 2, told her our name she says No, What do you mean no, I asked. There is no reservation under your name. Now I made the reservation over 2 months ago, and even called on the were there to confirm. The manger was no help at all he offer us to sit at the bar and said we can order cheese and chocolate. Wow thanks so much, that is what I want to do on our anniversary is to sit at the bar with my wife instead of take her to a nice dinner. They need to get a new manger and hostest, Please do not waste your time here if you want to go to The Melting Pot go to the one in Philadelphia
