The hydro has been out for a couple hours. It's getting too dark to read now. Getting bored.

How to be defeated by a wimpy Lame Goblin in #Munchkin

My sister played all these modifiers the other night. My brother-in-law couldn't take it down.

Without warning the Black Death took west Asia.

This was the most epic loss we've ever experienced at Pandemic. We were playing with the On the Brink expansion's virulent strain and in one turn went from three to skull on the outbreak meter. Black wasn't even the virulent strain. That stings. It was only the second epidemic card drawn. That crushes one's spirit.

This barn is located in Balmoral, Ontario.  It's currently being razed and I decided that I wanted to document its construction.  It turns out to be a rather interesting design.  It was constructed from reused timber from at least one older barn.  It is 80' long by 37'6" wide and 34' tall.

The bent construction is quite unusual.  Bent 2, for example, uses a swing beam installed upsidedown.  Bent 4 has two extra 8"x8" diagonal braces at the top and is unique in this building.

The drawings were made with +SketchUp in about 15 hours of work.  I was able to complete my drawing before the barn vanished.  Everything in the drawing should be accurate to within a couple inches although my rafters are straight and even and the original barn's were far from it.

I picked up Pandemic today and brought it to my sister, +Colleen Zimmermann 's, home. The two of us actually won our very first game! We played on "introductory" level with four epidemic cards. It was a close one though. We nearly ran out of player cards and infection cubes. Awesome game! Next time we play with five epidemic cards.

The Aftermath

Missy is shedding just a little these days. This is what I could remove before she told me less than nicely to quit it.

Today Fenwick, Ontario is celebrating its 160th anniversary.  The centre of town was closed for the occasion and I walked over to take it all in.  Spectators were treated to entertainers, old cars, food and informative historical information posted around town.

One of the more special items was the 1908 Stanley Steamer.
