It is important to not only have your gutters cleaned in the Autumn after the leaves have fallen but the Spring seeds can clog your gutters as well. The winter winds and snow can knock branches and debris from the trees. Twice a year cleaning of your gutters will help prevent rain water spilling over.#guttercleaningdenver

This is a picture of the type of debris that can clog a downspout. The problem was this debris blocked the corner downspout elbow and prevented rain water from draining into their underground system. I always suggest not having your downspouts drain underground for the simple fact that debris travels through the system and gets stuck in the underground system. This can cause water to backup and drain out right next to your foundation. If you have above ground downspouts they can be checked to be sure they are working properly. We will clean the gutters and downspouts with our services.

The snow and freezing conditions have been with us for a few weeks now. We can still clean your gutters once the snow and ice thaws off your roof and out of your gutters and downspouts. The debris in the downspouts can also be frozen and will be more difficult to clear. The process is much more dangerous using ladders and being up on the roof. The hours we are able to work in the winter are also shorter. The gutters start to thaw at 11am and begin to freeze again around 4pm. The gutters can be damaged if you try and break ice out of the gutters when they are still frozen. I have found in Denver that if we have 4 to 5 days of Sun and warm temperatures in the 50 degree range we typically can clean most gutters at that point. I know it can be frustrating with icicles hanging from your gutters but safety comes first. We can always catch you in early Spring.
