It's a documentary about labour relations in an industry that often lacks legal protections simply because many people wish that it didn't exist.  It really wasn't intended to be humourous.

The United Nations is asking everyone to vote to help determine their priorities for the next few years.  Assuming you're planning to be alive in that period, voting might be advisable ;-)
I just voted for the future I want! Have you? #Riovote #Futurewewant

Definitely. One should always beware of taking analogies and metaphors too far, but it's useful to get a new perspective.

As much as I am truly delighted to have scientific proof that Queen are the Champions, it still strikes me as a little weird that apparently the lyrical content of the songs was not a key factor. Particularly when three of the ten songs listed are about underdogs getting their due (four, if you count YMCA as well).
Study finds 'science' makes people sing YMCA

Whether you are for or against the death penalty, you probably wish that we lived in a society where things never got to that point.  This guy has some suprisingly sensible - and economically sound - ideas about how to do that.  Check it out:

It's obvious. These juvenile detention facilities are dehumanizing torture camps because that's what we think kids need. And it starts long before the camps.
