We reserved an ocean view room and got room with a large patio and a surprisingly nice view, considering it was on the first floor. The bell and valet staff were exceptionally helpful and all smiles. When we requested a crib for our son, they delivered it with a Johnson's Baby Kit with a variety of baby products to use/keep. A very nice touch. Room service breakfast was delicious. The pool area was beautiful, though we didn't have time to enjoy it. The only negative thing was that the carpet on our room wasn't cleaned well. Our baby had black knees and feet after 20 minutes of crawling around the room. And there were dead bugs on the carpet inside the patio door. The front desk staff had the room vacuumed quickly once requested, but I think the carpet could use a deep clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will probably return in the future.

Staff was very friendly and rooms nice. Great location across the street from the beach and really close to downtown/State Street. The pool is also great with awesome view of beach as well as insulated if it gets windy. We booked over 20 rooms for our wedding across the street. So we kind of expected some kind of mention of our wedding or acknowledgement in the room but wasn't anything. Not upset, just surprised.

Pretty good brunch buffet, although a little expensive. Nice little indoor bar that had NFL redzone on while I was there. We also had our wedding rehearsal dinner there and they served great food and managed everything well.

We booked through Hotwire and got the "Santa Barbara House" which is a sister property a few blocks away. Technically it's part of the Hyatt but feels like lower class since it's not part of the main hotel. Rooms are small but fairly updated. Downtown Santa Barbara (State street) is too far to walk so if you want to be closer choose a different hotel. I'd give 2.5 stars but bump up for the great service we received.

My first review was "mysteriously" deleted. So... I survived the night in this hell-hole. This is a skid row place disguising itself as a Hyatt and I am contacting Hyatt management to see HOW this place could EVER be classed as a Hyatt!! ( a once-dependable hotel chain ). I'm a platinum member and after complaining was switched to an even more disgusting room. To name just a few things: - sheets stink - beds smell and are no doubt full of bed bugs - towels are rags - water in tap reeks of sour egg?? - homeless people EVerywhere!! - run down and cheap - one thin bar of soap for the room - staff is all minimally-trained in customer service - walls and ceilings are thin Don't ruin your visit to Santa Barbara like we did. This is a five star DUMP. *** did I mention that a 3am TRAIN runs by too : )

This hotel is OK. 5 of us stayed there 1 night in early December. They messed up one of our rooms at first. They gave us a room with one bed for 2 adults and 2 kids. They did rectify the situation with a quick phone call. The hotel seems slightly fractured as it spans several buildings. Our building was the furthest away from the main building with a walk to the pool, bar etc. The first room that we got moved from was small, dingy and had barking dogs accross the hall. We got moved to a bigger room with two beds that was nice. Don't get me wrong, the hotel rooms are clean and have most things that you would think of. Another issue is they charge $15 a day for WiFi which I think is a bit out of order. All in, ok hotel, nothing special.

We got a partial ocean view. Clean rooms, new updated furnishings and bathroom. Room service was amzaing even set up a small extra bed for my son. They even sent fruits to our room because they saw our kids getting fruit from the fruit bowl in the lobby.
