Is anyone else here using TrackIR head tracking gear in video gaming? I just now stumbled across this and am kicking myself for being so late to the party: linked is a vid they did demoing it in 2007. Guess I was doing other things (!). But I just love immersive gaming and this looks to take it over the top for a whole lotta titles. I was just reading a post from someone flying planes in War Thunder who uses this and that's what set me on my Google-quest.

If you use this device (or are there competing products out now?) I'm curious about your experience, pros/cons, and what titles you think it works best in. Also, is it fun/helpful for just plain MMOs (ie not piloting/driving a vehicle, or not an FPS)? I always wish I could look around more naturally in those.

If you're still trying to get an effective handle on the minutiae of your setting, this looks like a useful tool/platform for world building and fiction writing. It's a note-wrangler, map manager, timeline organizer and more. Haven't used it yet but it looks promising!
See also the ad/review in the first minute or two of this video (on female armor), which is where I first heard of this product: https://youtu.be/lBtvS5yhTA8

Great treatment here about female armor in history and fantasy.
Also, although this vid starts with a minute or two long ad for a commercial sponsor, the ad is surprisingly apropos for world builders, since it is for a writing/world building note-tracking tool! So this is one vid you'll prolly want to listen to right from the very start.
