Great group of people running this place. We do an annual evening climbing session for our Boy Scout Troop and Venture Crew so we have quite an age range of youth and adults that participate. They do an excellent job of instruction for safety, and then turning loose the kids to climb and have a blast. It is always a VERY quiet car ride home afterwards because the youth are just worn out tired from the physical activity. I enjoy watching the kids challenge themselves as they gain confidence and skill. Some of them dig deep and refuse to give up until they conquer a tougher climb....that in a nutshell is what I try to bring out in our scouts and venture crew...that sense of mental toughness.

The facility is clean, the staff is helpful and the routes are challenging. -Bouldering wall-great way to develop and hone technique without needing a belay. Develop finger and limb strength with plenty of padding to challenge your reach and learn from your mistakes. It's a great option to climb when you don't have someone with you. -The routes have many features to challenge many levels of climb. The only drawback to me was the height of the routes. This limits the ability to challenge your stamina. An alternative to this is to climb clean as quickly as possible and to only utilize a certain color of handhold. Rock gyms are the next best thing to the real thing. Climate controlled with amenities nearby (hotel next door and restaurants within walking distance), this facility offers a lot. It has a great location (off of I-70 and Route 7) and is a great place to challenge your physical abilities and enjoy yourself. Other than the height of the building, the only thing I would change is another location more centrally located. Tell your friends. This place saves you the trip to Arkansas and offers great fun in a local place. My wife and I need to go more often.

My favorite climbing gym of all the places I've been to! First of all, the route setting is pretty good. 5.6 and 5.7 beginner routes are more than just jug ladders. They have interesting moves so the beginner can feel challenged while also knowing they have the capability to complete the problems. Theres a good blend of learning new physical moves and mental puzzle solving. I've been to gyms in Portland where they had a ton of space but mediocre route setting and ancient holds. Ibex has consistently updated its collection of holds since we started climbing here 3 years ago. We've gotten to know the staff and made lots of friends here. This is a great place to introduce yourself and friends to the sport. Its fun and not as intimidating as you see in magazines.

This is a great facility! The equipment and building itself are clean and well-maintained. I most appreciate the liveliness of the staff and their attention to safety. I would highly recommend Ibex and I hope to visit again soon.

They were fantastic! We went with a friend of mine and her husband as a birthday get together for her husband and we had a blast. This is great fun for the family. You do have to take a quick learning course if you haven't done something like this before but was very easy to catch on to. This is great family fun for both small kids to older adults and people of all different levels of experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Seriously don't miss out on this, it was so much fun!

Ibex is a great climbing gym. Lots of routes that are constantly changing. Prices are pretty good for a climbing gym. One thing to change is Friday hours, my friends and I always go to a rival gym as the Friday hours do not allow us to go for our Friday night activity.
Response from the owner - in the last week
Hey Noah! Thanks for the rocking review, just so you know we are recently changing our policies which will allow us to stay open Monday-Friday until 10pm!

I am a total beginner at rock climbing. The staff has been amazing about help, answering all my questions, guiding me in climbing directions, offering assistance while climbing. I couldn't ask for a better place to start and grow.

Hands-down the best place to climb indoors in KC. Ibex has a good variety of top-rope and lead routes, from simple, easy routes that beginners can jump right on, to challenging and difficult ones. We often go as a family and frequently bring a friend or two; everyone is able to find something for them. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Ibex combines good climbing with a fun and friendly atmosphere. It's a great place.
