Performa Sports has finally hit the App Store!

Performa Sports is our sports performance iPad app that we've been working on for a couple of years in partnership with Sports Analyst and User Experience designer Danny Turley. It's been a long journey with plenty of challenges, and there is plenty of exciting stuff to come. Performa Sports Ltd is Ecliptic Labs's sports app arm where we produce products for sports players, teams, and coaches.

In terms of design and development, Performa Sports is a great example of some of the processes we have in place and continue to evolve at Ecliptic, including prototyping, user testing and our development platform (same as Fusion), we look forward to sharing these experiences.

After 55 days 'in review' and many a conversation with the team at Apple, we've some tips on submitting $1000 apps to the App Store — for example Apple will want to know about your customers, require some justification on the price, and will carry out more in-depth due diligence on your company.

Performa Sports is already being used in Rugby, Football and GAA clubs in the UK and Ireland, and we've had a huge amount of interest worldwide including top level sports teams. We can't wait to see it in the hands of sports teams all over the world.

Didn't they do something similar with Google Maps a couple of years ago? The bigger question here I would ask is if this was something we missed in our lives and whether it was worth creating altogether. All of this craze about putting everything you can think of on some augmented social media layer reminds me a bit of "Pimp My Ride" when you're watching episode 259... Feels to me like a lot of these social media activations are reliving the days of iFart apps when there was a joke app made for everything. Or is it just me having spent too much time in advertising? :)

Multitouch glass display built by the Mill. Some great looking visual effects including a particle system and a [opensource] video playback timeline. Arduino and Cinder backed. What a great side project. http://vimeo.com/27718212

Hey Chris I see you're checking out some video projection mapping type of projects. Planning anything in that particular area or just having a look? Love this app that the Mill have produced... I can only imagine how cool the experience is using it!

Hey Chris, that's very cool! Simple little apps made in minutes directly on the iPhone - love it. May I just ask who's your primary target audience for such service? Will there be a web version of Fusion Publisher?
